Old chairs, sofas and loveseats often look worn out and sometimes the only thing that helps is to completely change the covering. This option can be a husle because you have to stay without them for a few days. However there is a fast solution if you're having some guests over and you want your reception room to look its best.
Lets say you have a nice blanket with an
interesting design, such as ocean themes, apstract drawings or maybe unicolor. Just throw it over the chair, but make sure it's long enough as it has to cover the whole chair. You can also buy some material that you like and do the same with it, or if you wish to do this with a sofa there are furniture throws made especialy for this purpose.
The next thing is to put some decorative pillows on the sofa. I'd try to find different shapes but be careful: pillows must not clash with the rest of the furniture.
End tables are a nice way to fill out the space in larger rooms and they come in handy for smaller accessories. If you don't have one or can't afford something like this >>>>>>>
try to find something in the house that you can turn into end table. I used a store shelf made out of metal and glass and it actualy looks like a real end table. No one has noticed that it's just a part of a whole rack.
Few years ago my mom and dad moved into a new house but they didn't do much decorating. Then my mom called me to come and see the new wall lights they've set. I was amazed how a simple ceramic wall lamp can make a whole impact on the space. Some of these lights make beautiful shadows on the wall, such as this one on the picture. The best shadows are on walls with strong colors.
Ceramic wall lamps are quite cheap, easy to install and best of yet, can be repainted anyway you like.
No matter what kind of feel you want to achieve in the room, wall lamps will do it for you. If you're after a minimalist style, choose a discreet, simple lamp in pastel colors
Why not use light bulbs in color if you have white walls?
