		The Distance Between Us (to F.E.) Hear It! (996k)

Shortly after the Hyland Studios session, HBI had completed the assembly of a new song, "The Distance Between Us." HBI met to work out the details of the new song, but at the time had no method of recording it. John enlisted the assistance of his brother-in-law, Mike Alberts, to record the song for HBI (since he had a four-track recorder and a basement full of musical equipment and instruments). HBI created the song with Mike as engineer and drummer. Later that year, when HBI was recording the final songs for the Graven Images album, it was decided that HBI would re-record "Distance" using John's recently acquired four-track recorder (thus giving us better control over the final mix of the song).
