Alright, well, I gained weight!  YEAH!  That's an awesome thing.  Plus, the ultrasound found that Kirsten appears to be perfectly develooped & about 6 pounds, 11 ounces.  Her heart has 4 chambers, her body parts are all intact & she's positioned perfectly for the big day!  I will now start my weekly appointments.  We also did a test for Group Beta Strep.  This is a common test just to see if I have it.  If I do, I just get another shot during labor to prevent Kirsten from getting it & becoming ill.

Well, I've gained a pound in a week.  This visit seemed a little odd to me.  It started out normally.  Then, I told my midwife that Kirsten wasn't kicking quite as hard as she used to & that my contractions were longer lasting but still irregular.  With this, she decided to monitor them & Kirsten's heartbeat with another stress test.  Apparently, everything looks just fine, but I'm having a little contractions between the big ones.  They're irregular, but they're there.  This spurred my doctor on to asking me if I had a car seat, a pediatrician, confirming my desires for labor & delivery (like, if I wanted an epidural, who was allowed there, etc.), letting me know when I should call & that she would not be on call Saturday through Monday.  That she may not be the midwife to deliver Kirsten, although she hopes she will be.  :-)  So, that left me wondering if Kirsten will be here within a week or so.  :-)

I only gained 1/2 a pound over the last week, but at this point in pregnancy it's not to be of concern.  Many women at this stage often find themselves losing a couple pounds!  So, I'm at 122 & 1/2 now. . . that's 34.5 pounds since the beginning.  I'm only 1/2 a pound away from my minimum goal.  It's a lot better than my midwife ever expected.

Kirsten's heartbeat is still nice & strong.  My blood pressure is doing great.  From the exam, my midwife said that I'm 2 cm dilated, 50% - 80% effaced, & Kirsten's head is down very low.  So, upon leaving the office, she said, "I'll see you next week, or in labor!", emphasizing
in labor.  :-)  Then, last night, Kirsten gave me quite a bit of discomfort with some false labor!  It's going to be soon!  My instincts tell me that it will be by the end of the weekend at the latest.  :-)  Getting excited...
