April 16, 2002 - Dr. Elizabeth McCrann
This was my first appointment.  Nothing fancy.  Most women know how this one goes.  They do an exam & take some blood.  They answer any questions that I may have & tell you any concerns they may have.  The best part of this appointment was hearing Kirsten's heartbeat!  Plus, Dr. McCrann said it's perfectly okay to go to Brazil in July & I'm supposed to eat what ever I want to gain weight!  EDD given: Nov. 9, '02.
May 1, 2002 - FASTER Trial Appointment
The FASTER Trial appointment was a chance for a free ultrasound!  I took it.  The local College here in Denver is doing a study on Down Syndrome in pregnant women.  Okay, so I had to let them draw some blood.  But, if it got me a chance to see Kirsten & find out the odds of Kirsten have Down Syndrome, I figured it couldn't hurt.  It was very exciting!  Even at 12 weeks, 6 days, I could see Kirsten moving around in there.  Very active child & I couldn't feel a thing!
TAKE ME HOME!
July 25, 2002 - Nancy Miller, CNM
1 2 3
FINALLY!  I was able to see a doctor again.  Moving can cause so many delays.  But, things went GREAT!  The baby's heartbeat sounded wonderful (150 bpm) . . . big surprise.  & I've gained 24 pounds total!  Nancy was very kind & pleasant.  It's unlikely that she will be the one that deliver's Kirsten, (midwives rotate shifts CONSTANTLY), but I will have time to meet all of them & get to know them before the big day.  Nancy says that she's very pleased with how I'm taking care of myself.  Which is always nice to hear.  :-)  OH!  & I scheduled the big ultrasound.
August 8, 2002 - Ultrasound Visit
She's a girl!  Kirsten was finally seen for what she is for the first time.  & already, she is very much like her mother. . . does what she wants, when she wants.  :-)  The ultrasound tech tried very hard to get a good picture of Kirsten's face & that did not happen.  Kirsten had a great time keeping her face pointed towards my spine as well as possible & refused to turn her head at all.  :-)  I've been cursed with a daughter just like me. . . just like Mom always warned.  LOL!
