| Armored Core, by From Software, is THE mech simulator game. It isn't anime styled with all that neatness, this is what it would be like if mechs really existed and were usable. Change parts, color schemes, modify to your hearts content, then battle, take bounty missions, anything, everything. Super detailed, sometimes boring because of how real it is, but genuinely fun (if not punch-through-wall-hard). The story here is Gerpanzerter Kern, which is just Armored Core in German. It's a one-shot, nothing more, nothing less, set in AC3. A quick read, and I found it fun to write also. It's basically the FMV opening to AC3, but of course, I've added a lot of flavor to the story, since the FMV was thirty seconds long, and had no characters. Also, I love the mech designs. Awesomeness. |
