Beginning the Journey Speaker Attends
Triangle Foundation and Project Yes
Communication Training
Nicholas Linindoll, Beginning the Journey Founder, Program Director, and Speaker recently attended a training hosted by Michigan's Triangle Foundation and presented by Project Yes of Florida.  The training featured a weekend of workshops on December 1st and 2nd at the Westin Southfield-Detroit Hotel.

The Project Yes Communication Course is a two-day course for speakers to learn the model of communication Project Yes uses to accomplish their mission. Presenting a new approach to communication, this course enables speakers to produce powerful results while honoring many different points of view, and focusing on the well being of all youth.

The Project Yes website says the following in regards to this communication course:

"Breakdowns in communication, particularly on the issues of gay and lesbian youth, often occur as people take sides on who or what is right or wrong. Lost in the battle of proving who is right or wrong is a common purpose - ensuring the healthy development of all youth.

"In the Project YES Communication Course, you will learn how to recognize breakdowns, manage automatic reactions, and focus on purpose. In a purpose-driven dialogue, you can remain authentic, honor diverse opinions, and together produce win/win solutions."

The Triangle Foundation released the following:

"The training, entitled "The Missing Peace" is designed to help people be better speakers and effective advocates. The highly sophisticated training curriculum helps both the novice and the experienced speaker deal with confrontation, and hostile audiences."

Beginning the Journey
benefited greatly from this course, and we look forward to implementing its themes into our own workshops.
