A couple of years ago I lived for 9 months on a farm with Tessa Strickland and her family. I got free accommodation in return for running her kids to school and helping out with meals etc. To take over when Tessa went away on her business trips abroad.
For Tessa has a company called "Barefoot Books", which produces quality children’s books, with stories from all around the world. They are well liked for the quality of the artwork as well as it`s subject matter.
One day Tessa asked me if I`d like to write a counting book for Barefoot, under the name of "One Moose to Twenty Mice."
With my background in comedy I tried to write it in a comedy style that would amuse the adult as well as the child.
Alas, none of the three transcripts were accepted, and the book went ahead with a different writer. But I still prefer my version!
(Note... the 1st transcript includes a joke for Tessa while she read it, and was not meant for printing! But I leave it in because it still amuses me!)
I have written many plays, comedy sketches and poems, as well as songs. In the near future I am hoping to publish them. But here are three different stories all with the same title! "One Moose to Twenty Mice!"
