FROM ONE MOOSE.... TO TWENTY MICE.

BY: G.P. WALKER

One big brown moose snores loudly, despite the antlers on his head.

And the reason he sleeps soundly? Large pillows on his bed!

Two little goldfish in their bowl, are swimming round and round.

But there are times they just get bored, so then swim up and down.

Three pandas eating bamboo shoots, in the middle of the night

Can you see they’ve got black eyes, I wonder if they fight?

Four elephants with floppy ears and very long grey trunks.

One’s rolled his up, can you guess why? I think he’s smelt the skunk!

Five tigers looking dashing here, with stripes of black and amber

Have given up hunting for the day to try to dance the samba.

Six strong horses all lined up, together pulled with pride

A wedding carriage down the street, but forgot the groom and bride!

Seven zebras have come to town, on their backs a heavy load

Can you see the safest place, for them to cross the road?

Eight very hungry crocodiles, with gleaming sharp white teeth

Are being very naughty, making love without a sheath.

(Sorry... I mean Cannot see the clever fish who are hiding down beneath!)

Nine egyptian camels, take a rest by an old tree stump

Can you see which ones are smiling and which have got the hump?

Ten lovely fluffy ducklings are all swimming on the lake

But one is swimming upside down, surely a mistake.

Eleven little ladybirds, which have been flying through the air

Now stop for a rest on a washing line, that’s filled with underwear!

Twelve cows grazing in the field, laugh as they eat the grass

For the farmer’s trousers are soaked in milk, he’s gone and spilt his glass!

Thirteen farmyard chickens are all strutting on their legs

And all of them are clucking, they’ve just laid thirteen eggs!

Fourteen pigs are working hard, they’re trying to build a dam

For lunch they have brought sandwiches, filled with cheese and ham!

Fifteen penguins at the North Pole, having fun skating on the ice

They’ve found some curry to keep them warm, but couldn’t find any rice.

Sixteen lively monkeys are all swinging in the tree

Some think they are being naughty, but it sure looks fun to me.

Seventeen rabbits with white bob tails are being rather bad

They`ve burrowed holes in the farmers field and he is hopping mad!

Eighteen dogs with wagging tails, they think they`ve found a bone

But they must be barking mad, in fact it’s a telephone!

Nineteen cats laying by a fire, are happy I detect

They are nice and warm, they`ve just been fed, life is just purr-fect!

Twenty mice all working hard are eager now to please

They’ve been told, if they’re good as gold, they all can have some cheese.
