  "LOVE LANGUAGES"

as i was saying, we all have love languages. some people are big on TALKING. they'll tell their lovers how beautiful they are, or how wonderful they are. they'll sing their lovers praises. some people are DOERS. practical people--like me--they cook for their lovers. they pick up laundry for their lovers. they remember what their lovers need and buy it for them. others are TIME lovers. they just want to be around their loves. they need to hang out with them lots. there are GIFT-GIVERS---that's me too. i'll randomly give a gift to folks. i'll write them a letter of encouragement. even if i never hear back from them. but i gotta admit, after a while i leave them be. then there are the TOUCHERS--i am guilty, i confess. these are the folks who are always hugging. they love to kiss their lovers. they love to hold hands. so i'm a toucher, a doer and a gift-giver.

so here's the problem. i've got a mix of love languages and so do you. but i gotta realize that your love languages may not be what i want. and my love languages may not be what you want. let's say i'm a doer but you're a talker. you constantly praise me and tell me how wonderful i am, but you always forget to throw out the trash. if i don't understand that's your language then i'm gonna get really pissy at you. and if i never tell you how charming, gentle and sweet you are, but i always iron your clothing and have dinner ready for you with your favorite dishes, you will wonder if i really love you. so you gotta be patient with me. i'm not sure what your love language is--not yet at least.
