Coronation
November 6-7, 1999 Mesa, AZ Cry unto the hills and let all rejoice for the Coronation of Aaron and Alisandra is almost upon us! All are invited to journey to the Barony of Twin Moons for this most wondrous of events as we wish Arthur and Gabriella a fond farewell and welcome Aaron and Alisandra to the Atenveldt thrones. coronation is being held on the campus of Mesa Community College. The courts will be held in the Outback Theater and the evening's feast and reveling will be in the Navajo room of the student union. The site will open at noon with the closing court of Arthur and Gabriela being at 12:30. The Coronation court will follow after a short break and the reading of law changes. The theater will be closed at 6 PM. The feast hall will be open all during the courts and will close at 10 PM. The site will re-open on Sunday morning at 9 AM for the tournaments and will close at dusk. The theater and the hall will not be open on Sunday. The evening's feast will contain a sampling of foods from around the known world and will include such delights as Bubble'n'Squeak served with various breads, Beef with Garlic and Salad, and Citrus Chicken with couscous. A complete list of feast ingredients will be available from the feastocrat upon request. Feast reservations need to be paid to the feastocrat by October 28th as the feast is being limited to 200 guests. There will be room for an additional 50 guests to sideboard in the feast hall. Their Royal Highnesses would like to hold a bards competition during the feast in the evening to decide upon a new Bard of the Sun. If you are interested in being part of this competition, please contact the autocrat. The Kings, Queens, and Youth Championship Tournaments will be held on Sunday and will also be on the grounds of Mesa Community College. Merchants will be permitted to set up on Sunday and shad pavilions may be staked if need be. There are some shade trees scattered throughout the field but extra shade is always welcome. The fighting field is on the north end of the campus and there is plenty of parking immediately adjacent to the field. There will be a fundraiser of some sort over the course of the weekend to raise funds for improvements to the fighting pit at the Schnepf Farms site. More information on the fundraiser will be available from the autocrats. Directions: Take your best route to US60 (Superstition Freeway). Exit at Dobson Road and turn North. The college will be almost immediately on your right. The theater is on the South end of the campus and there is plenty of parking next to it. Signs will be posed to direct you to the correct parking lot for the theater. The Navajo room is in the center of campus. Directions from the theater to the Navajo room will be available on site.
