Spinning - defined as any handspun yarn that would be suitable for weaving, knitting, embroidery or other textile arts appropriate to the period of SCA interest. Poetry - defined as any written poem using a form that is appropriate to the period of SCA interest. Entries should be limited to ten (10) pages or 5000 words. Fragments of larger works may be entered, but they must be cohesive and self-sufficient. Tournament furniture - defined as any article of furniture specifically fabricated for use at tournaments or other outdoor events. The furniture should specifically reflect an attempt to help create an atmosphere that is appropriate to the period of SCA interest.
Each entrant is allowed only one entry per category. No entry may be entered which has been previously entered in an official Estrella War Arts and Sciences War Point Competition. Each entry must include written documentation. Documentation shall not exceed five (5) pages in length. Additional pages for bibliographies and attachments (i.e. pictures, etc.) are permissible. All entries must be registered at the scheduled time to be eligible to compete. Only completed articles, or portions of a work in progress that are complete, will be judged. Each entry shall be judged using a point based system with five (5) judging criteria used. Each criteria is worth up to ten (10) points. The judging criteria are as follows: Documentation Complexity and/or Difficulty of Piece Workmanship Aesthetic Quality Creativity and/or Authenticity. The Arts and Sciences War Point competition shall be held on Saturday, February 19, 2000. Registration of entries shall commence at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Judging shall commence at 1:00 p.m. and continue until all entries have been judged.
