After finished my French course in CCF, I wanted to learn another language. German was my choice (so I took a course in Goethe Institut), but I never thought that Germany would be my first European country (because I always wanna go to France). In fact, I was told that Germany was only a transit for me since I would be assigned in the Netherlands. But there was a change in the plan so there I was in Vechta, North Germany during 3 months of my preschool training in Schlumberger (Jul-Oct '00). I have to say that, being a woman foreigner in such a tiny German village, my life  was not easy; but thankfully I could hang in there (thanks to my great friends!!!)

Unfortunately, I didn't take many pictures during my stay in Germany. And I regret it a lot because I don't have pictures of some friends, specially Nadja's...:(
Helmut "Helly" Gmach (Austrian)  &  Emil Oniga (Rumanian)
Two of four boys from Wireline. The others are Jan Steckhan (German)  and Simon Koundjou (Cameroonian). Right now Helmut works in Mexico, Emil in Canada and the others are still in Vechta.
Me and Leah Heil
The picture was taken at the Heils' house, not too long after Leah's first birthday. I gave her a Berlin bear as a birthday present. Clara and Matthias named it Gussle (they took it from my name, they said).
Leah is a very sweet little girl...:)

Matthias is a General Field Engineer in Coiled Tubing
Elisabeth "Babeth" Furst (French)
Babeth and Nadja Mueller (Austrian) are my great roommates. We had a lot of fun, although our jobs schedules never allowed us to see each other a lot.
I lost Babeth's track; I don't know where she is now. Nadja was previously in Congo and will be transferred to Chad, soon.
