       Local events in Toraja devided to two kinds " Accending Ceremonies & Deccending ceremmonies.
Toraja   "The land of God's". Where We believe that our forefathers descended from heaven on to the mountain some twenty generation ago , And have a unique culture based on strong Animistic beliefs. We practice the Ancestor cult  where Death and After _ life ceremonies are great feast. A strict hierarchy
is followed in the village and for important figure, Burial ceremony normally take days
to perform. Buffalos  are ceremonially sacrificed an the deceased's remain placed in a coffin and interred in caves hollowed out in the high cliffs.
In the front of the cave is guarded by lifelike statues, called
Tau tau who diligently look out from a balcony at
 family and friends  they have
