TROOP TRIP PERMISSION

As required by Safety-Wise and GSVSC Policy P2:
Troops/groups must have permission from a person authorized by the council (trip permission specialist/field director) to participate in the following activities:
  1. Activities that involve travel outside the community
  2. Camping, including backyard camping
  3. Programs that include human sexuality and related health issues
  4. Activities that present a greater risk than usual to participants
FAQ's
  • Girl Scout troops and groups may NOT participate in a trip/activity if the Activity and/or Tip Permission form (#2129) is not approved and filed appropriately with the trip permission specialist and/or field director.
  • Troops must complete the Activity and/or Trip Permission form (#2129) for trips and/or events sponsored by Council.
  • Outdoor training is necessary if you are attending an event/camporee sponsored by another troop/group.
VERY IMPORTANT!
For Lynchburg Service Unit, the Trip Permission form (#2129) must be turned into the trip permission specialist (Betty B) no later than 2 weeks (if the trip is in-council) or 4 weeks (if the trip is out-of-council). Other members of the Service Unit Team can not grant trip permission unless authorized by the Field Director. If the appropriate steps are not taken to get trip approval, permission for the trip will not be granted.
