Johannes (John) Friedrich Karl Wegner

John was born in 1888 in Schmiedendorf, Germany, the fourth son of Hinrich and Johanna Wegner.  He was a soldier and of the Lutheran religion.  He died of diabetes at the age of twenty-four, 11/6/1912 in Kiel, Germany.
August Ernst Theodor Wegner

Born in 1891, the youngest son of Hinrich and Johanna Wegner, August died of a ruptured appendix, 8/1/1894, at the age of two

Emma Augusta Johanna Wegner

Emma, born 9/9/1895 in Barensdorf, Germany, was the youngest child of Hinrich and Johanna Wegner.  Emma had one son, Heinrich Christian Wegner, born 9/7/1917.  Heini's father was killed in WWI. 
Emma married Berhard Lohse on 7/29/1933 in Kiel, Germany.
Emma was a street-car conductress and retired in 1939.  In 1960, Emma went to Davenport, IA to visit with her sister Karoline and her niece Dolly Moritz.  During her visit, Emma met her brother Henry for the first time.  Henry had immigrated to the USA before Emma was born.  Emma also met her nephew, Fred Wegner when Fred and his father , Chris (Christian) Wegner went to Cheney, Kansas to see Emma and Henry.  Emma died 12/7/1982 in Kiel, Germany.
Berhard Lohse was born 10/4/1888 in Heide, Germany.  During the war all boys had to train in military groups.  If a man had not served in one of the groups he had to be a leader of a group.  Berhard Lohse was, at one time, a leader of a boys military group in Hitler's army.  Berhard died 5/4/1945 in an accident.

Heinrich Christian Wegner

The only child of Emma, Heini was born 9/7/1917 in Kiel, Germany.  Heini's father was a soldier and was killed in WWI.  While Heini was servind during WWII, he was captured by the Russians.  When he was released, he returned home only to find Kiel had been heavily bombed, and his step-father, Berhard Lohse, had died.  Heini married Irmgard Rathje on 12/31/1948.  Irmgard was a widow with a small child, Ingeburg Miehe (born 4/5/1917).  Heini worked in finance before retiring.
