| Adios, Oregon. Even though they were actually a #3 seed, Oregon was probably as close to a Cinderella that we had left in this thing. I mean, come on! We're talking about OREGON here for cryin' out loud! In any event, the Duck's much ballyhooed freshman guard Tajuan Porter went stone cold Sunday, shooting a pitiful 2 of 12 from the field against the top rated Florida Gators. And this after lighting up UNLV for 33 on Friday. All this means that the defending champion Florida Gators are heading back to the Final Four where they will face off against their title game opponents from last year, the UCLA Bruins. And is it just me, or does Joe-kim Noah act like he just won the Super Bowl after every single play he makes?? I mean EVERY single play. The day's other game, Georgetown vs North Carolina, was easily the more exciting of the two, with Georgetown mounting a furious comeback in the final minutes to force OT. UNC, which went Tajuan Porter cold late in regulation, continued their frigid shooting in the extra session, getting outscored 15-3 by the Hoyas. I would have lead today's update with that game, but I had already prepared that totally sweet Nintendo graphic and so, well, you know ... I kinda sorta had to go with it. Georgetown will now face THE Ohio State University next weekend. Carolina's choke-fest means that Aaron Perlman's bid for glory has now come to an end. The "Aaron Perlman era" as he liked to call it. Much to the horror of Bill Corcoran, the new sheriff in town is long time participant Bob Bousquet who is in the clubhouse with 112 points and holding the Florida Gators in his hand: |
