Procedure
-
Legal advice: we will tell you (in
Greek or English) what your rights are, what documents you need (It sounds
strange but you need many documents from Canada before proceeding to Greece!)
-
Our office has representatives (lawyers) to almost
all Nomoi (prefectures) in Greece, all able to take care of your rights.
You don’t have to “torture” a relative there to fight the Greek bureaucracy
for your rights – even if he is in good faith he will abandoned your case
after some time! You don’t have to travel to Greece either to protect your rights
and spend thousand of dollars; we can do it from here through our associates
at a fraction of your cost. My office has more than 35 associates in various
Nomoi (prefectures) of Greece. My office in Athens will take care for all cases
in other regions. If you are planning to sell your property, the payment (cheque) will
be in your name, my associate will not have any access to your money –
except his fee, which will be paid to my office in Toronto. All of my associates
are lawyers, appointed by a presidential decree and registered to the Official
Lawyers' Association in their capital city.
-
If you have your own lawyer in Greece
you can appoint him/her. We can prepare all documents s/he needs from Canada
but of course we assume no responsibility for the progress of your case
in Greece.
-
If you trust us with your case we will
charge you a small percentage on the value by the Taxation Department – Antikeimeniki
Axia (usually lower than the actual value). The above percentage includes
my associate’s fee and also the commission of my office, but no taxes,
penalties, duties, notary public's fee etc.
-
If any extra cost is involved in your
case due to its peculiarities you will be informed in advance.
-
It’s my opinion based on thousands
of cases that the faster, cheapest, best way to do business with Greece
is through my office and my experienced associates in Greece. My statistics
show that 60% of the persons appointed as representatives (plirexousioi)
do nothing for several years. It’ also my experience that independent lawyers,
chosen by my clients, spent years without doing anything significant for their
case and also on the average charge more the Greeks abroad!
In Brief
-
My Office can give you a sound legal
advice on your rights in Greece for $75 (approx. 45 minutes of consultation).
-
My Office will prepare all documents
needed by your lawyer (usually: Death Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Divorce
Certificate, Family Status Certificate, Power of Attorney, in collaboration with
the Greek Consulate in Toronto)
-
My Office can take care of your
case in Greece (probably at a lower cost than if you chose your own lawyer!)
Advice: You don't need to be a Greek
citizen in order to accept, claim, buy or sell properties in Greece!
