Internationally, Delta Gamma's give more than 90,000 hours a year in volunteer service in a variety of ways to their communities. However, the work of the Foundation extends beyond service.

Delta Gamma Foundation Mission Statement:
To provide a means for charitable, scientific, educational and cultural objectives.
To provide guidance, support, and praise to all Delta Gamma volunteers.
To set and achieve standards for volunteer service.
To assist Delta Gamma Fraternity in meeting its objectives as stated in Article II of the Delta Gamma Fraternity Constitution.

Locally the Grosse Pointe Delta Gamma Alumnae Chapter conducts over 50 hours of annual pre-school vision screening and conducts
fundraisers that contribute the Delta Gamma Foundation and to local organizations that provide services for aid the blind and sight conservation.
Vision Screening
Once again the GPDGs will Do Good in our neighborhood preschools by conducting vision screening with four-year-old children. If youve never screened before, training will be provided (
its quite easy!). Please review your schedule and plan to schedule at least one session this Fall. Exact dates, times, and places are available by contacting Cary Sottrel [email protected]. Thanks to all of you who graciously volunteered to vision screen last Spring. With your help, we were able to screen 118 students at 5 area preschools.  Of these students, we recommended that 4 get follow-up evaluations from their eye doctors.
Grosse Pointe DG Alumnae Foundation Contributions

Labels For Education
The Campbell's Label for Education program is a successful Foundation service project. During 2007-2008, Delta Gamma's collected 36,141 labels! The labels were sent to the Delta Gamma Center for the Visually Impaired in Kansas City and The Delta Gamma Center - St. Louis (from Campbell, Franco-American, Pace, Prego, Pepperidge and Swanson products). Your labels can bring much needed equipment to the Delta Gamma schools for children who are blind or visually impaired. For more information, see www.labelsforeducation.com; call Campbell's at 1-800-424-5331; or, contact Delta Gamma Labels for Education Program Chairman Anne Robinson Mount at [email protected]. (Please write Labels for Ed in your subject line.)

Things to Remember When Collecting Labels:
Send only the *UPC codes from canned labels or lids, when applicable. (*This is a new procedure. Do not clip the whole label, only the one point or five point UPC codes or lids.)
Do not staple UPCs together, and do not put any tape on them.
Gather them together and bring to any DG meeting or deliver to Ann Watkins, who will package and send them to the appropriate Chairman of this program. The annual deadline is February 1st. So let's start saving for next year!

The Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC)
The National Panhellenic Council has been a loyal supporter of the Ronald McDonald House for many years. For the RMHC webpage click here. What can you do? Donations for household items are very helpful. If you would like to donate any of the following please bring them to any GPDG function.
