| Pecans, Mixed Nuts, Almonds & Cashews Each year we sell wonderful nuts for the Holidays. You can eat them, sell them, freeze them, spice them or package them up as great hostess and teacher gifts. All proceeds go aid to the blind and sight conservation! The nuts arrive in early November. These 1 lb. bags are fresh, delicious and easy to sell (Just keep a supply in your car)! Friends and family will find these indispensable for the holidays. Each year we hope that each of us will commit to at least 5 bags to use, give or sell. | Holiday Auction The Grosse Pointe Holiday Auction is a huge fundraiser for aid to the blind and sight conservation. Last November we raised $729.00. I think most of us would say it is one of the most enjoyable fundraisers they have participated in. When have you ever been in the presence of an incredible group of women, shopping for Christmas and ourselves, with wine in hand, laughing and spending?! Some of our classic big sellers: prepared food items, jewelry, and many homemade goods. This celebration is held Thursday, November 20th at the beautiful home of Ann Watkins. This is one event you do not want to miss next year! Simply bring a guest and a few items to auction off! |
| DG alumnae "do good' in many ways. By fostering the high ideals of friendship, assisting collegiate chapters, and by participating in the projects sponsored by the Delta Gamma Foundation. Besides our efforts with pre-school vision screening in our community we conduct fundraisers through out the year. Below you will find our current fundraising efforts. |
| Terrific Spicy Cocktail Nuts
From Clock Wise Cuisine Junior League of Detroit 1� cups sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. curry powder 1 tsp. ground cloves 1 tsp. nutmeg 2 egg whites 2 lbs. pecan halves (Delta Gamma pecans are best!) Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Combine first five ingredients. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until foamy. Mix nuts into egg whites (mix very well to coat!) and then into spice mixture, again mixing very well to coat. Place nuts in a single layer on a teflon or parchment covered baking sheet. Bake for 3 hours, turning once every hour. Yield: 2 lbs. delicious nuts! Bet you cannot eat just one! |
