| What do my dues pay for? $20.50 goes to per capita dues to remain in good standing with Executive Offices. The remaining $16.00 goes toward Region IV dues, panhellenic dues, insurance, Convention, postage & printing, & vision screening All money raised through our fund raising efforts go to aid to the blind and sight conservation. | The Grosse Pointe alumnae association of Delta Gamma began with an informal meeting in 1951 at the home of our first President, Mary Belanger, on September 18, 1951. Four years later, we became a chapter, adopting our original bylaws on May 17, 1955.
Due to diminishing numbers in the 1970's, we reorganized as an association and maintained our core group and service projects. However, with a surge of new members and enthusiasm in the early 1980's, we again became a chapter, sending a representative, for the first time in many years, to the Dallas Convention in 1984. We have accomplished much in the last 50 years, the foremost being loyal and enduring friendships. We are proud of our accomplishments with service projects involving sight conservation and aid to the blind, and our donations of well over $20,000 to organizations that support our philanthropic goals. |
| Our chapter currently has 43 dues-paying members, and an average meeting attendance of 10-15 Delta Gamma women. Everyone on our membership list receives at least one newsletter in the fall, and responding members receive a second updated newsletter in the spring. All dues-paying members also receive a copy of the Grosse Pointe alumnae chapter member directory.
