  • JULY 16th- UDEC 4th Annual SUBMERGE ART AND ENVIRONMENT FESTIVAL CELEBRATES THE GOWANUS CANAL- outdoor film screenings and multimedi presentation of Live Underwater video Exploration of what lie beneath the historic and notorious canal with The Urban Divers. Venue will showcase several films about the Gowanus Canal, produced by local international filmmakers, with educational short films " Contaminated Sediment- Problems and Solutions", After The Rain- Waste Discharge in our Rivers". Films screens at Sunset. A free guided eco-cruise of the canal aboard The urban Divers motorboat and fleet of row boats precedes the film screening, Begins at 1pm. In conjunction with the annual 2nd STREET BLOCK PARTY. At 2nd and Bond Street.
