In the black Baptist church I grew up in, “Go Tell It On The Mountain”
was the christmas song that always brought everyone to their feet!
Even when it’s just background music on the radio you can’t
hear it without SOME part of your body wanting to move!
The up-tempo gospel feel of this track makes it excellent to
sing to as praise and worship christmas music in church, but
it also features a “Big Band” jazz orchestra which my friends
that are into physical fitness and exercise
tell me takes it to another level.
They say it’s some of the best and greatest christmas music
to workout and exercise with and they use it as a part of
their regular rotation even during the rest of the year
for walking, running, jogging, aerobics, and jazzercise.
One thing for sure; if the music of this version doesn’t
wake you up and get you going, you might want to
check to make sure you’ve got a pulse!
