-
REHEARSALS: Burnout / Oh, Me / Smells
Like Teen Spirit
-
SETLIST: Smells Like Teen Spirit /
Oh, Me
-
ENCORE: Burnout
Notes: This was just as how most bands start out: really shi(tt)y
and with lots of crowd pleasing covers. The Indian River High School
Talent Show. First live performance by the band, then called the
Pillsbury Buddhas. First and only show with Mark Brand on guitar,
first show with Matt Quay on drums. Jacob Pete, Josh Hagen, Mark
Brand, and Matt Quay made up this very early version of the band. Being
the first ever performance, it is only natural that covers were played,
Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and Meat Puppets' "Oh, Me". The
band won first place in the band competition competing against Bucket and
Stress on Mine! (featuring Kevin J. O'Neill Jr., Garrett Amyot, Scott Monaghan,
and Jacob Pete) Since the band won first place, they got to come
out and do an extra song, so "Burnout" is debuted live, giving the world
a brief taste of things to come.

SETLIST: Lithium / My Sharona / Come
As You Are / Undone - The Sweater Song
Notes: First show with Garrett. An all covers show played
at a high school dance. Nirvana's "Lithium" and "Come As You Are", The
Knack's "My Sharona" and Weezer's "Undone - The Sweater Song" are played
for the first time.

For Brisbaine's "Translucent" live for the first time.

-
SOUNDCHECK: Love Buzz / My Sharona
-
SETLIST: Blister In the Sun / Pop Song
9 / Love Buzz / Burnout / Lounge Act / Tribbles 'n Bits / Translucent /
It's a Shame About Ray / Fine Vinyl Bunny / Children's Books
-
ENCORE: Mr. Greene / Subliminal Messages
Notes: Last show with Matt. The band is still called Pillsbury
Buddhas. Lots of covers, like Violent Femmes' "Blister In the Sun",
Meatless Grillers' "Pop Song 9", Shocking Blues' "Love Buzz" (The Nirvana
way), Nirvana's "Lounge Act", Lemonheads' "It's a Shame About Ray", gleeping
geese's "Children's Books", Biscuit For Brisbaine's "Translucent" and "Mr.
Greene" and "Fine Vinyl Bunny" by Dan Lawson and Kevin J. O'Neill Jr.
Super rare appearance of "Subliminal Messages", a song written back in
the Beppo and the Supermonkey days, first ever "Tribbles 'n Bits", still
in the early stages. Overall, a very strange performance.
