Both of my grandfathers turned 70 in the past month. For my Grandpa Eddie, we went to visit him in the nursing home and brought him his favorite pie. We also went to Connecticut to visit my other grandpa and took him to dinner to celebrate. It was terrific to be able to celebrate such a major milestone with both of my grandfathers!
In April, I took part in an outreach program that our dance company does with the Pottstown Symphony Orchestra. We danced to Benjamin Britten's Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra. Each instrument plays a solo so the audience can hear what it sounds like. The orchestra also played other music without us dancing. The teenager who won the symphony's Young Musicians Contest played a solo on the cello. He played David Popper's Hungarian Rhapsody, Op. 68, and he played very well. We performed on three different days, at three different schools, with three shows at each school. It was a lot of fun.
At the end of May, my Boy Scout Troop had another weekend camping trip. This time, my dad went on the trip with me. The main activity on theis trip was mountain biking. We biked 26 miles in the Pocono mountains! We started at 10AM and biked until 2 in the afternoon with a stop for lunch. My dad made it the whole way! The weather was supposed to be cold and rainy the whole weekend, but lucky for us, the weather held out, and we got some awesome views of the Lehigh River. When we got back to camp that night, I made a delicious cherry cobbler for my patrol's dessert. It was so good that the adults and the boys from the other patrols wanted to try it, too! We had a great trip, and I can't wait to go biking again.
We're nearing the end of another school year. I still have to have my evaluation before I can be "officially" finished with 7th grade. Of course, my mom will still have school projects for me to work on all summer! Oh! there was also an article about me in our local weekly paper just a week ago. I think you should be able to read the article by clicking on the link to The Free Press. I am looking forward to some fun activities and camps this summer. In a few weeks my mom is taking us to New York City to see the American Ballet Theater. Hope your summer gets off to a great start!

I am getting ready for my dance recital. I am dancing for my Jazz class and my Ballet class. I have two costumes that I really like. For Jazz I have a black costume with a pink fringe skirt. We are dancing to "Let's Hear it for the Boy," from the musical, Footloose. In Ballet to "In My Own Little Corner," from Cinderella. I have a beautiful, pink ballet dress for it.
Last weekend, my class danced at the Strawberry Festival in the town where my dance school is. I also got to play games like throwing balls to knock down cans, bean bag toss, and ring toss. I also went on a moon bounce, and of course, we ate strawberries!
