Happy New Year!
We had a very exciting year. We had a great Christmas holiday.
One of my favorite things of Christmas vacation was going to Connecticut to visit my grandparents. While we were there, dad, Gabrielle and I went sledding. We got bundled up in our snow clothes and packed our sleds. Gabrielle had a new sled that I gave her for Christmas. When we got to the hill we saw a sign that said, "No Sledding!" Dad drove us to another hill. When we got there, there was more grass than snow! Gabrielle and I worried there would be no sledding at all. Dad drove us all through Bristol, CT where he grew up. Lucky for us, dad thought of one last place to try. He brought us to a hill that he and his cousins used to sled down.
It was very cold outside and this hill had plenty of snow. At the bottom of the hill there was a row of pine trees. Gabrielle slid first. She whizzed down the hill. I went next. I went even faster! We were there for a long time. My last slide sent me under the pine trees!
When it was time to go, Dad asked us if we wanted hot chocolate. Even though it was really cold and snowy, we had both gotten so hot that we asked for big glasses of lemonade!
We've also had a lot of snow at our house. My friends and I have been outside building snow forts and tunnels through the snow. We've done some sledding in our neighborhood, too. I went ice skating at an outdoor rink and I will start Ice Skating lessons in February.
I hope we get a lot of snow this winter and I hope this year is even better than last year!
We had a wonderful holiday!

Gabrielle's Grab Bag
Gabrielle was very surprised by her gift from Santa. Gabrielle asked for a "little people" toy. She expected only a small package of two or three animals. Instead she got a huge castle set! There was a unicorn, a dragon and the royal family! It even came with a royal horse! The castle has a drawbridge and throne room. Gabrielle loves it and has played with it "thousands" of times.
Gabrielle loved going to our grandparent's house. She loved playing with their Black Lab dog, Whoopie. As a Christmas present from our grandparents, she got a new game called, "Adopt a Dog." She plays it every day!
Gabrielle also loved going sledding. She loved it because sometimes she went faster than me!
For New Year's Eve, my mom and dad woke up Gabrielle and I just before midnight so we could watch the big ball in New York City go down! We all had apple cider to celebrate. Gabrielle got to go outside to say "Happy New Year" to the neighbors. They were outside shooting off firecrackers. Then she went back to bed. The next day she enjoyed watching a little of the New Year's parade.
The biggest news this month is that Gabrielle has started Kindergarden in our homeschool. She was so excited and anxious to get started. She woke up lots of times during the night waiting for the morning. Then she got all dressed up for her first day of school! She is doing great and having a lot of fun!
Gabrielle and I went to a dog show and she loved it! She asked every owner if she could pet the dog! She made lots of dog friends. She really enjoyed watching the dogs run the obstacle course (or as she called it "the optical course"!)
Gabrielle is looking forward to lots of adventures this New Year and is already talking about her birthday in February!
Waiting for the arrival of 2005!
