Cross Country At Brandon

Cross Country at Brandon is something I have been doing for three years now.
It's always a challenge and never easy, but the challenge and effort are well worth the rewards
I get. I get not only physical rewards, but mental and emotional ones as well. On the team you of course tend to grow tough and buff (at least your legs do!) from all of the practice and miles you put in. You usually end up coming out in better shape then when you came in. I say usually because there are always going to be injuries involved. Did you know that girls Cross Country has the highest rate of injury? It even beats out varsity football! So you must be strong to stay in Cross.
You get mental rewards from Cross country as well. To run well you must have discipline. It would be easy to slack off or take an easy day, or even lie about an injury. You would not only be hurting yourself, but also your teammates who are counting on you to come through. I believe that from Cross, you could improve your mental capabilities. Although, I think that is true concerning most things.
Emotionally there are rewards too. Cross Country tends to have a small team. You grow very close to one another, and gain many new friendships, while reestablishing old ones. You also get the satisfaction of knowing that you've put it all on the line. That you have done your best, and worked your hardest. Those facts alone are enough to make someone smile at themselves, no matter what place they finished.
If you are interested in Cross Country or Cross Country at Brandon you should check out the page I made earlier in the year with some basic information.
