I started smoking in 11th grade of High School through peer pressure and have been smoking on and off since then. I have tried quitting many times. The Patch, Hypnosis, Cold Turkey, Basic Training (US ARMY). None of these ways worked or at least proved to work as a permanent cessation of this disgusting habit. I was up to a pack a day and at the current prices I was spending over 100.00 a month on this habit. I was so entrapped by this habit that I would be suffering from Bronchitis brought on and enhanced because I was a smoker and still be out side smoking and inhaling this smoke into my lungs and cringing from the pain. I was unemployed in California far about a year but managed to keep smoking and gave up things that I should have just to have my cigarettes. This was a true addiction and a sin. As a Christian I have come to understand that anything in your life that has control of you and you cannot control like smoking, drugs, alcohol, is a sin. I was saved at a church in Newton PA and started my walk as a Christian brother. I fell away from my faith for a while and then after being relocated to North Carolina in 2000 I was introduced to a small Christian church called River Oaks Community Church because they were looking for a pianist for the praise band. Well I really feel that God led me to this church through my love for music and I have been there since.
