The week of January 12th 2006 I was given an extra hour for lunch and as everything in life happens for a reason, this was one of them as I would soon find out. I took my normal lunch and then afterwards, I decided to just drive and began praying to God. Well something amazing happened. I really feel that the Holy Spirit or even Jesus was sitting in the passenger seat next to me as that is how close I felt to God at this moment. I began praying for Father God to tell me or help me get rid of these cigarettes. I asked for four things.
1. Why cant I quit this habit when I know It is killing me?
2. If I Quit I would not like to not ever remember what it was like to smoke or to have smoked?
3. Please make me sickened to the smell of smoke?
4. Please remove all temptation from me to ever want to start again.
Well During the drive, the Lord spoke to me. For years I have asked the question of what happens when the Lord speaks to you? Does he talk to you? What actually happens. Well I can now say that this is the second time that he has spoken to me and it has been through a flooding of thoughts and answers to my questions that I did not know the answers to. While I was driving, I began feeling a presence and was told that the reason why I could not quit was because I was afraid to quit. That was one of the reasons why I have failed in the past.
