Gladys was born on Sept.18, 1924 in Massillon, Ohio, the first child of Lewis and Aletha (Alethe) May (Bailey) Henry. She graduated from Washington High School, Massillon, Ohio in 1942 and Aultman Hospital School of Nursing, Canton, Ohio in 1947.
On Oct.19,1946 she was married to Franklin G. Markley Jr. son of Rev. Franklin G. Markley Sr. and Gertrude (Wagoner) Markley.
Gladys and Franklin had 3 sons:
1) David Henry Markley - born Jan. 17, 1948
2) Franklin Robert Markley - born Sept. 4, 1949
3) Guy Lynn Markley - born May 1, 1963

Kelly Frances Markley - born Oct. 30, 1990 at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota - Daughter of Guy L. Markley and Frances P. (Mills) (Ward) Markley.
