Trying to discover if there is more to write about
The Next Chapter
April 5, 2003

The last few months have been interesting...I've been tossed from a strip club, I've lost two grandparents in a 7 week period, I've returned to my Mecca of Las Vegas, been to a few concerts, roadtripped to Lake Charles, and I have finally begun to get over the girl I loved. But everytime someone I haven't seen in a while asks me what's new, I still say "Not much."

NCAA Tourney time always brings out the bandwagon jumper in all of us. Let the record show that I have been driving the Syracuse wagon all year...Chien has heard me talk about them so much that I know he wanted to avoid me when they made the Final 4...but I attempted to jump off today. If UT would have won tonight, I would have won my tourney pool. Unfortunately, they didn't make a single stop all night. I want to jump back on the Syracuse train, but I have feeling Kansas is your next national champion.

Add Avril Lavigne to the list of girls who are cute until you look at them closely.

Though I am regrettably a fan of her music. I can't help it, it is a total guilty pleasure for me and I would buy the cd if I didn't think it would emasculate me permanently.

Six Feet Under is my favorite television show by far. I'm an emotional sap (something that not all of you know about me) and show makes me feel like no other. I love Peter Krause and Nate, the character he plays, is my favorite.

Peter Krause was also on what of my former favorite shows, the short-lived
SportsNight. I always thought the brunette who played Natalie (the actress is now on Ed )was my ideal woman. She was cute, smart, sexy, and new how to break down a 2-3 zone better than Kelvin Sampson. If anyone knows who I am talking about, let me know, so I don't feel like the only loser who watches too much tv.

Do you think film porn stars are pissed at upstart Internet porn stars for stealing so much of their business. I imagine there is some tension between the two groups.

I could write a novel about how excited I am about the Astros' three stirring victories this past week, but I'll remain understated...for now.

Unfortunately, I think the Rockets may be done. I hope I am wrong, because I could use the extra money a playoff run would provide. If they somehow won a championship, do you think I'd get a ring, or am I too far down the ladder?

      Rent the movie
Roger Dodger....it is alternately hilarious and depressing. I haven't seen a movie in the theaters for over a month...I really think that is a record for me. Top 5 movies I want to see that our out: 1) City of God, 2) Better Luck Tomorrow, 3) The Pianist, 4) Bowling for Columbine, 5) Spun.

You know how everyone has that one skill that they are better at than everyone they know? For me, it is removing bras in world record time. Do you think that is a marketable skill? It really isn't all that great of a talent...sure it is a cool party trick, but in real, applicable situations it just ruins the mystery faster.

The thing that I used to believe I was better than everyone else is the Windows game Minesweeper. I use to believe that a persons intelligence level could be solely measured by that game..and I really believed I was the best ever. . But my sophomore year in college, I discovered someone with much quicker times than myself. So my belief system had to adjust accordingly.

Download music from the Omaha-based band Rilo Kiley. It isn't usually my type of thing, but that means many of you will probably like it a lot...especially if you are female, Rob, Jeff, or Kevin.

Everytime I hear 50 Cent rapping about being "In Da Club", I momentarily forget that I'm white, can't dance, and generally hate the night club experience.

      This is
my United States of Whatever!!! It is good to see Liam Lynch finally getting some love. Any man who created the genius that was The Sifl and Olly Show deserves to be famous. I guess this means we won't be partyin' at Dude's house...
