Sandy: "I Can't Believe I'm Only Your Third Best Kisser Ever!"
Doesn't Nostalgia Count for Anything?
April 20, 2004
   Well...it counts for 3rd...

    Blake's little brother
Reid hit a bicycle cop with his car. Can you imagine how scared he was the moment after doing that?

Liz introduced me to this new mini-sensation called
Ok Cupid. Take their short love personality test and see how you rate. Out of the people that have taken it so far:
    Alex is
The Slow Dancer
    Liz is
The Window Shopper
    Jill is
The Window Shopper
    Jeff is
The Vapor Trail
    MMM is
The Intern
    Rob McD is
The Poolboy
    I am
The Boy Next Door
Isn't that scary accurate? If you take the test post your results on the message board thread.

A new Bob Schneider cd was released on Tuesday. It's phenomenal(you can listen to it
here. If you want me to burn you a copy, let me know.

One other music note: The Rapture and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club are playing the Engine Room on Sunday, April 18th. I'm a huge fan of both bands...download something and let me know if you want to go.

Liberal talk radio station Air America is on the air. This is something that you'd think I'd be excited about, but the whole thing leaves me a little lukewarm. It will preach to the converted but it certainly won't convert anyone who isn't already leaning left. Worse, in the tradition of Rush Limbaugh and Fox News, it will just further divide without providing meaningful discourse.

On a related note, do you think there are two people who view life as differently as
Michael Savage and Dan Savage, who share the same last name?

WooHoo! I won my fantasy basketball championship yesterday! This adds further credence to my hypothesis that I am good at anything that is insignificant and won't help get me laid.

I made one glaring oversight in my NBA column yesterday. Lamar Odom should have been considered for Most Improved Player and possibly even second team All-NBA. He turned himself from a soft perimeter player into an all around star who excelled on the glass.

Best syndicated sitcom exchange that I saw while being a couch potato this week -
Friends, right before Monica and Chandler have sex for the first time:
Chandler: "Just how drunk are you?"
Monica: "Drunk enough that I want to do this, but not so drunk that you should feel guilty about it"
Chandler: "That's the perfect kind of drunk!"
Mr. Bing, truer words have never been spoken.

I know that it is not cool to watch Survivor anymore (was it ever?) but I totally idolize Boston Rob. He's a total dick, but since he's funny (
Guy Code Rule #7), it is easily forgiven. No one has ever dominated a season more than he has this one.

A little known fact about me is that I can be a crier (make that number 16 on the
list of things to make fun of me about). That was in full effect when Phil Mickelson one the Master's last Sunday.I don't know if I have ever been more wrapped up in a back 9 before. You gotta root for the guy...he's a gambler (i.e. one of us). Very stirring.

Last Sunday, I saw the movie
The Girl Next Door with Blake and Kevin. Yes, it completely stole every plot development from Risky Business, and yes, it was not very subtle, but it certainly made me laugh. Emile Hirsch (The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys) has a star quality and Timothy Olyphant (Go, Deadwood) owned every scene he was in. But if you are male (or lesbian), the reason to see this movie is Elisha Cuthbert. Blake, Kevin, and I don't have that similar taste in girls, but all three of us came out of the theatre saying that her character in the film was quite possibly the most beautiful ever captured on film. Especially during the first half of the movie, when she actually had to act.

Olyphant also excels as the star of the new HBO series
Deadwood. If you have HBO, it is worth setting aside an hour a week to watch.

Keep the guest columns coming...I really enjoy reading and sharing all of your thoughts and ideas. I'm still waiting on columns from Rizzo (give me some slice of NYC piece), Rob (same from Baku) and Jeff (about whatever). I know you all are reading.
