CHARACTER CREATION: DOMINI 3037

You are now ready to began drawing up your character for Domini 3037! Here are the guidelines you will need to began. This page was created specifically for everyone wishing to play a full Dominian character in 3037. If you are playing a traveler, a character from any other game system, your character must be beganing level by that system. You will still need approval of said character by the room controller even then. NOTE: You will not find any mention of exact attributes or dice here. This system has been designed solely for online roleplaying. The systems presented here are copywrited under International Copywrite laws. Any duplication without the strict consent of the creator will be considered plagerism.

PREPAIRING FOR THE ROLE

The base of roleplaying is the same stuff of actors, acresses and the big stage. You are assuming a role, a part in a play. Some actors merely put on the cloths and go through the movements. The best actors, those that we all know and love, actually "become" the characters they portray. They think like them, they act like them, and take on varying manerisms. While we guide you through the character creation process, remember to ask yourself, will you be anouther hack or one of the truely great actors?

BACKGROUND

The character's background is the most important element of the creation process. Our childhood has so much influence on the men and women we become in the world. The same is true for your characters. Here are a few simple questions to concider before proceeding with the rest of character creation. What where your parents like? Did you grow up in a wealthy family, moderate, or barely scraping by? Did you have a lot of friends or only a few close ones? Did you excell in school or barely scrap by? What are your hobbies? What is your favorite color? What is your favorite meal to eat?

With some of these questions answered, we can continue to finish up the background information. These are important ones, not to be left off of any character sheet. The above, you may have skipped. First, what is the character's name? Do your best to come up with both a given name and a family name. Both are important.

Second, what does your character look like? What is their sex, hair color, eye color? Granted, your race, which comes next, will determine some of your characater's physical attributes, but there is still alot of wiggle room.

Third, what is your character's race? See the people page for a full list of races, their abilities and their draw backs.

Forth, what is your character's main source of income? What is their proffession in other words? Only elves are exempt from having to answer this. Dominian elves are all sardukar. They are very fast, but must be played as the Emperor's commandos. Money is very important in this game, any other and in real life.

Lastly, where does your character live? If you are a mutant, then you live in one of the waste land cities. If not, then do you live at Arimus city? Agaumesh city? The palace? Or one of the several other smaller cities or towns?

EQUIPING YOUR CHARACTER

Several factors will determine your character's basic equiptment. I am working to make the character process as simple as possible, so bear with me. Some basic nessacities, such as an apartment or even small house, general appliances, communication device (think cell phone/walkie talkie), and cloths are assumed. Your character has them. If you have anymore questions over what your character can have as a basic nessecity, then feel free to ask. This will deal with weapons, implements of defense, and vehicles. See the technology page for further information.

All mutants began play with a small house in any waste land city, one low tech weapon, no more powerful then a 50 caliber assult rifle, and a basic low tech vehicle. This vehicle, you can assume has the equivalence of modren day armored cars. They will stop most guns and grenades, but won't do much against, say a LAW or TOW missle. The vehicle you began with also is not armed with artillery.

Dominian Elves began play within the barracks of the Palace. You have a bed to sleep in, three hot meals, access to showers, baths, etc... Standard Sardukar equiptment includes the following. An Enjiniar Technologies shield belt (Will filter raditation and absorb 90% of all damage), a medium assult blaster rifle, and a spiffy Sardukar uniform! The range of this blaster rifle is 300 yards. The uniform does nothing except look cool and identify you as Sardukar.

Everyone else, you start play with an apartment in one of the shielded cities, 1,000 credits and a shield belt. The medium assult blaster rifle of the Sardukar sets the Empire back the same 1,000 credits. Spend it as you choose, just use the money page as a guideline. If you dream up something different for your character to have, run it by the room controller for approval and cost.

CHOOSING MAGIC

Magic is as important to life in Domini 3037 as every piece of high technology. In some situations, even more so. Use the magic page as a guideline. The rules for magic, as well as what your character can start with are listed there.

ADVANCING YOUR CHARACTER

The biggest question most roleplayers have, is how do I advance my character? How do I get the next neat stuff? This is the section that will cover that. Granted, just because you have the "points" does not mean your character automatically pulls new powers or technology out of thin air. You still must roleplay getting them.

Everyone: Sardukar elves, mutants, and every dwarf, human and alien in Domini has the following to advance their characters. I don't care what job you have dreamed up for your character, after all your bills are paid, expenses done for a business or what have you, you are left with 50 credits a month free and clear. One month of game time, equals only one week of your real life. I know this does not sound like much, but thats the way things work. This includes having brought grocerries for your house, paying your rent and all that, however. Now, if you want your character to eat out, needs to see a doctor, or take a cab to anouther city, then you pay for it. You can save up or you can just have fun with the money. Once again, the money page has serval example prices for what things will cost you.

Magic advancement. You get one quarter "point" for every month. This means one full point for every actual month of real life that passes. One point can buy a level one spell. Two points for level 2 and so on. Likewise, for every month of game time (week RT) your characters Magic Points (what you spend to cast the spells) goes up by 1. This is a perminant addition. This means that eventually, your character will be able to cast more and more spells, but will take a good while before its of any actual use. Spells are not just purchased either. New spells must be learned from someone else that knows the spell you wish to learn. Spells above level 5 will be rewarded, by the storytellers, as "Devine Inspiration." In other words, you will not need to run down the ancient Guru that knows these powers.

All of these advances for your character can only be had when you spend 3 sessions of no less then one hour each in channel per week. Everyone has real time. No one is requiring you to even be there for that much time. However, if not, then your character will not advance. Sitting in channel for an hour without interacting or even posting anything is also severly frowned on.

ROOM OWNERS NOTE

There are many other ways to advance a character in Domini 3037. All of them through actual roleplay. Maybe you charge someone else for goods and services? Maybe the Emperor or other powerful person rewards you for something? Who knows. Anything is possible. Will I allow thieves? Only if roleplayed correctly. You can not steal something unless its from a player character AND that character is there so that they may try to defend themselves. Player killing should not happen lightly, everyone wants to enjoy themselves after all. But, should it happen, you may loot their body for their possesions. Most will be readily available to you. To use a "stolen" IMC (Imperial Monetary Card) you will have to find a bank that is less then on the Up and Up. Some small banks do exisist that will do underhanded deeds, like transfering credits from stolen cards, however, they usually charge outrages fees and "exchange rates." Sometimes, the room controller or a few other of my storytellers, will run large RPs. Those that participate and do well, will probably find their characters partaking of rewards for such activities.
