CITIZENS OF DOMINI 3037:
HUMANS: Those that are still classified within Domini as humans, exist within the palace and shielded cities. Like all races in Domini 3037, they almost died out almost 1,000 years ago from extreme exposure to radiation. Through a millennium of breeding programs and genetic manipulation, they managed to save the race. They could not remove all of the genetic changes, but they could make it into a benefit. Their physical bodies appear no different from ancient (twentieth century) humans. What they gained was accelerated reflexes. Their reflex speed is twice that of what it was in the past. The only exception to this, would be the royal family. Their breeding has been controlled with an iron fist. Their reflexes are faster then even the elves and it is rumored that their strength rivals even the dwarves.
DWARFS: Dwarves are short and stocky. Their height ranges from around 3 to 3.5 feet. A rare “Giant” of a dwarf might reach a towering height of 4 feet. They are incredibly stocky; however, weighing in around 350 to 400 pounds. The dwarves in Domini 3037 also all live in the cities or the palace. Dwarves have become the leading producers of Dominian high technology. Some of their inovations rival anything produced by the advanced alien races. Dwarves do not have the speed or reflexes of the humans, but they make up for it in strength. The result of the initial radiation, followed by years of “saving” the species. Dominian dwarves are pound for pound, twice as strong as humans. Given the muscle mass of a dwarf, you can began to get the point. It is not unheard of a pissed of dwarf to pick up a half ton object and throw it across a room.
ELVES: The elves came closer to extinction then any other race. The exact number of elves that survived the first attack has not been reveled. Their numbers remain small to this day. The reason is, any increase in breeding, would increase genetic flaws. Every elf is damn near a twin of every other one. Their breeding pool got reduced so much that there is almost no variation within their genetic code. All Dominian elves currently serve as Sardukar, the Emperor’s elite fighting force. Dominian elves have reflexes that boggle the mind. They are four times as fast as the ancients, or twice as fast as the Dominian humans.
MUTANTS: Mutants exist outside of the shield protected cities and palace, in an area called the waste lands. For the most part, the mutant cities and villages are still loyal to the empire. They refuse the offers of genetic help or barrier shields. They believe strongly that their mutations are a mark of pride. This may be true. The powerful magics that first drove back the Siak’tar were the result of mutation. Mutants do not have enhanced reflexes or strength, but they make up for it in magic prowess. Mutant magic tends to be far more reliable then the city dwellers, and they can even achieve higher levels of power. Mutants came from Human, Dwarf and even Elvin stock, but all are not considered part of those races any longer, even by their own mindsets.
ALIENS: There are two races of aliens living in Domini at this time. Both had their home worlds destroyed by the Siak’tar, so both are highly loyal to the empire. The exact powers and appearance of these aliens will come later. I am actually hoping some of the future players will help fill in those gaps with their own creativity.
ROOM OWNER’S NOTE: These are the races that are currently indigenous to Domini. They do not represent all the possible characters by far. Space travel, combined with Rifting, makes for many, many possibilities. As room controller, I will give permission to characters before allowing them to join. But, as I stated in the main rules, I do love originality and creativity. Show me what you have, and I may allow it. I will not tolerate God Modding, however. As long as a character has its strengths and weaknesses and is not unlimited in power or resources, it stands a good chance of being approved.
