| This view shows a double-headed battery-electric train crossing the girder bridge at the top end of the line. In the background Roger is preparing his Roundhouse 'Russell' for a freight train on the steaming bay. Technically just the diesel outline would have hauled all six coaches but the steam outline with it made for a better picture. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| This second view shows the 'Russell' 20minutes later hauling a freight train. This was the fifth steaming of the 'Russell' since Christmas and apart from some interfereance on the radio it ran like a dream. This was the second steaming that day and unfortunately we have no pictures of it hauling coaches on the first run. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| After going round the top loop, the train approaches the girder bridge, returning down the hill to the bottom loop. Notice that you can see the change of gradient on the right of the picture from almost level on the right to 1in30 on the left. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| This picture is a bit obscure on the trains; my little recently completed and modified IP Engineering 'Punch' loco and its train of sand hoppers is just visible to the right of the girder bridge. Sorry about the dark green, but the plan was to paint the name and number in brighter colours (which has now happened). Unfortuneatly the light wasn't right for this picture and the radiator and body blend into the background. The loco isn't particularly visible but the train and brake coach are! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| 'Contraption' entering Weyford station. I call this loco Contraption as it is a cross between a Roundhouse "Lady Anne" and a Billy from the same manufacturer. So really it should be called "Billy Anne", shouldn't it? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Cheddar Models 'Samson' awaits life while a DeWinton passes with some sand hoppers. The DeWinton performed well and ran a few times during the day. The Samson was owned by John Woodroofe of Cheddar Models and performed faultlessly as well, apart from crashing with another train when priming! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| An original Roundhouse Charles Pooter chuffs past the yard. This locomotive performed faultlessly despite its age and sported its original boiler and adaption to signale-channel Remote Control. This locomotive also ran twice during the day, this was on its first run. All pictures were taken with the subjects in motion. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| A Roundhouse Billy passes the yard full of locos not in service. The home railways pride loco "Sgt. Murphy is in the middle facing the camera neat the the building. The locomotive passing is a Roundhouse loco; i'm mot quite surre what but I think that it is a Billy. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| This picture shows the fiddle yard at the back of the layout. Douglas trundles down on the outside track, while stock awaiting service is on the far left and right tracks. The stock on the right hand track is GHLR's own. The loco on the left is the Charles Pooter. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| This picture was taken later on in the day when the diesel in the middle was making the rake for Sir Tor, who is on the siding to the right. I triede to get a more staggered efect on the locomotives, but the driver of Hanchel was driving a little fast for my liking. However it still turned out OK in my opinion. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| This picture was mere pot luck! A Roundhouse Fowler pulling a bogie bolster wagon, and SIX heavy four wheel coaches. It was a job just to get it all in the field of view. After this immense load was hitched on, it ran as smooth as it ever could. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| This is what a workshop looks like after an order from the Ffestiniog Railway comes in! This shows the PPS stand which was neat to the layout. The spare parts and vehicle kits are located at the far end. This stall had plenty of interesr all day. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| This shows the station at a busy time, with Sgt. Murphy in the foreground and Douglas passing on the outside line. Murphy was unfortunate enough to suffer from a dodgy burner 10 minutes later, while Douglas steamed on for another 1/2 an hour. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| At the end of the day, a modified Punch disrespectfully shows the camera its tail light while it trundels round the circuit to keep the last on-lookers happy. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
