GRAHAM THE GOD
Captain Graham Morris got the praise after spurring on his side to a good win over Kent rivals Dartford in this equal match.  The reserves had Greg Nessling in goal after poor performances in the first eleven and Steve Hafner up front while Ian Young and Scott Hayhoe were on First team duty.

The first half was really un-eventful, only three chances the whole half and two falling to United, only long balls up the field was what the United strikers saw, while it was poor for Dartford, the wingers couldnt provide for the Kent outfit.  The only real note was Bruce Sands getting booked for an unknown and invisible foul, although it was the second time that Sands had fouled.

The second half started brightly and United made some openings Dominic Cruttenden had a shot wide of the post.  While after that a long ball into the box from Sands wasnt held by opposing keeper James Tedder, the ball went free and
Graham Morris stabbed the ball home.

Things got tempered when Dartford number 4 Paul Richardson elbowed Nessling, but the keeper didnt stick to the rules and only booked the defender.

Dartford started to get back into the match with Sam May coming closest when keeper Nessling messed up and May went through and missed the bouncing ball in front of an open goal, and his second chance was well blocked by Jimmy Penfold.

Dartford made Nessling work for his place when Gibbons free kick was well tipped over by Nessling, then Sam May had another chance to score but Greg Nessling made a fantastic point blank save to his right, to keep United in the game.

It was crucial as that really won the game, but Graham Morris, surely one for the first eleven, great in midfield in the middle, hard tackling and set up many chances, my man of the match.
