MATCH PREVIEW
Well here we are, the last match preview of the 2003-2004 season and the last in this division, before the summer change-around.  It just seemed yesterday that we beat Corby 3-1 on the opening day of the season and England were in control against South Africa in the test match.  But over the past nine months there has been a season that nobody couldve predicted a year I certainly wont forget, 44 players took part in what has been a average year considering only one player has stayed from our Premier division side until now.  United though come off two bad defeats, Burnham was bad enough, but thank goodness that I didnt see the Sidley game, although I heard that we shouldve won with relative ease, but losing to a side a division below us with us fielding our nearly first choice side, it can really be called embarrassing, Histon will certainly fancy their chances now of picking up three points.  United can really take things easy now, easily avoiding relegation (or being in the bottom two) but if United want the support to come through them gates, they must prove that they are getting value for money.

Histon can win the title at The Pilot Field, but they need a bit of luck they need Kings Lynn to lose at Fisher and they need to beat us, so I think an attacking formation will be employed, maybe 4-3-3 would be the best bet, they have some very good attacking players and will wanting to win the match with ease, maybe by half time, but it all relies on Fisher who I cant see beating The Linnets, I do hope that Kings Lynn do win the title they have been heads and shoulders above the over sides in this division, and out 2-0 defeat at home and 4-2 defeat at their place can be called good results.  Histon though have had a really tough run in including Salisbury away and Kings Lynn away on Bank Holiday Monday where 1621 turned up to see The Linnets pick up a crucial 1-0 victory that could be the point where they have won the title.  Histon also hammered Fleet 5-1 last week to really boost their chances on goal difference, I believe only one goal between The Linnets and Histon, so it wont be about the goals its the points they need.  Whatever happens itll be a good day and one to savour as ten weeks of boredom lie ahead.

Good luck to the lads on Saturday

HASTINGS UNITED TEAM NEWS
Steve Lovell is unlikely to change his side, maybe he will introduce a player or two for the fun of it, but Ricky Spiller I believe is suspended for his comments made to the linesman at Ashford when he was sent off.
CLARET'N'BLUE PREDICTION
United I cant see winning their last game of the season, but maybe a draw on the cards, Histon wil want to win, but I think United can frustrate many sides, if Histon do attack, we can get underneath them and get in their way if so to speak.  United I think will end the season with a draw and Kings Lynn deservedly win the title.

My Prediction

Hastings United 1
