Arsanath Carrithers
In the name of God, amen. I, Arsenath Carrithers of the county of Jefferson and the State of Kentucky, being mindful of my mortality while now composed and of a sane mind do hereby make this my last will and testament.
First: it is my will that of the means, wherewith divine Providence has blessed me, after my death all my funeral and burial expenses shall be paid and all my just debts, if any, of every kind shall be paid.
Item second: it is my will that at my death the executor of this my will shall pay over of my means two thousand five hundred dollars to Ruth Robison, wife of James Robison, my granddaughter for her use during her life, should she, Ruth robison, my said granddaughter, die before her husband, James Robison, whom I appoint my executor, then the said James Robison, shall have the use of the above named sum of two thousand five hundred dollars for ten years after said Ruth Robison's death, at the termination of this time, I will said sum to the Methodist Episcopal Church for missionary purposes. Also I will my bed and bedding, books and any household furniture to my said gradddaughter, Ruth Robison.
Item third: also I hereby will and bequeath unto my neice, Lucinda Talbott, now of Sangamon County, Illinois, the sum of one thousand dollars to be paid over to her by my executor.
Item forth: also hereby will and bequeath to said Methodist Episcopal Church South, the sum of one thousand to be used for missionary purposes by said church. this sum is to be paid over to the church at my death.
Also I hereby appoint my grandson, James Robison, executor of this my last will and testament without requiring him to give security as an executor.
