"Sister's By Chance, Friends By Choice"This page is dedicated to the awesome reunion/meeting memories between my sister and I! My beautiful, wonderful sister came to visit me in January 2005! We had the best week, learning about each other, finding similarities, and just generally becoming GREAT friends! She has such a special place in my life, since I didn't have a sister growing up. But the one I have discovered now, is amazing! Renee, I miss you so much! We had such a blast and I cannot wait until you come back! Love to you and William! For all other's - here is a glimpse into our reunion. Day 1 - Saturday Journal Entry (edited for this page)Renee arrived at the airport and hour past her projected arrival time. Mostly due to bad weather, Pennsylvania got hit hard, starting when her plane took off!! She just barely made it! When I saw her waving at us, this rush of excitement hit me and I couldn't wait to hug her!! I had to swallow back tears, because well - I'm an emotional fool and was afraid I'd scare her! I was immediately amazed by how much we resembled each other! Most of the photos I had seen, really did not show any similarities at all. My favorite feature - those trademark eyes. We had to deal with lost luggage so we were stuck in the airport for a little longer, but we were on our way before long! We took her to Wal-mart on the way back and then HOME! We poured through her photos and I loved every second of it! We laughed together so much. She has a great sense of humor and the week was awesome! She brought me TONS of gifts, and then we went out to dinner to Cici's Pizza (a first for her - in fact the whole week we tried to eat at places she couldn't eat at home!)
Day 2 - Sunday Journal Entry (edited for this page)Unfortunately due to the lost suitcase situation, we didn't get to do much on Sunday. I took her to church in the morning and she seemed to really like it. It's a great church and most people are really surprised at how great it is! We got there too early, and wound up spending some time just standing around, however, I was able to introduce her to my friend Cyndi. I was also able to introduce her to all three of Cyndi's children - including the beautiful baby girl Cyndi had in July. We came back home and waited almost ALL day for the suitcase to be delivered but finally the driver showed up! We fed her Imo's Pizza for lunch - because it's a St. Louis style pizza and she also got to try Toasted Ravioli (another St. Louis thing). After the suitcase arrived, we looked through her scrapbook albums and I was surprised to see that she has kept everything I've sent her over the past 8-9 years! It was a great day! But I don't think we took any photos! LOL Day 3 - Monday Journal Entry (edited for this page)I took her to the YMCA that I worked at, to meet all my friends and co-workers. Everyone commented on the resemblances and it made me feel great! I took her to White Castle today, and although she pretended to like them (hehe) I could tell she really didn't! But if you've never had them, I think everyone should try them! We went to the post office, because she was sending a letter back home and she was amazed at the size of our post office (it is a rather big one), but she comes from a small town, where she lives on a 120 acre farm, backing up to Amish Country! We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and had a blast! I finally got to talk to William (Renee's husband) at dinner on her cell phone. He is so completely adorable and funny! Again, another completely AWESOME day!
Day 4 - Tuesday Journal Entry (edited for this page)Renee attended an ADHD seminar with me & it was awesome! She learned a lot about our family through that one little seminar, and I don't mean, just mine - I mean our entire biological family! We didn't do much today, played with the dogs, watched some movies, but still had fun spending time together! Again, another day of no photos, only picture's of dogs and kids were taken today! LOL I cannot believe that! Day 5 - Wednesday Journal Entry (edited for this page)Mark went into work to bring a treat to his employees, so Renee and I waited at home for him. We really didn't do much except sit and watch movies and I messed around with my computer website - tweaking my ADHD page and adoption page to reflect her visit. The reason we didn't do much today was because Brielle came home early, because she was sick, and then Ryan had computer club. However, Renee met my brother, Stephen and he babysat for us so we could go out without kids! We picked up Mark's mom, Linda and had a nice quiet dinner at Pasta House and then went to see "White Noise" at our new theatre.
