The Storm

I sit here and I wonder, where you are this stormy night.
Loneliness set's in, and only you can make this right.
The raindrops on my window panes, like tear drops from my eyes,
Falling softly to remind me, and make me realize.

There's a storm in my heart, just aching to be free,
A storm that I cannot hide, that I've got to let you see.
Raindrops splatter down, into the deepest part of my soul,
And I just can't help but think, that you will make me whole.

Your loving arms are all I need protecting me each night,
As you gently stroke my hair and tell me everything alright.
The way I feel about you, is not a mystery anymore,
As I sit here wishing harder, that you'd walk right through that door.

But I know that time's against us, and I cannot change that fact,
But I know just how I feel about you, as I sit here looking back.
The raindrops falling harder, as the lightning fills the sky,
And only time will tell what holds in store for you and I.
