Searching Forever

I would have searched forever,
Until my dying day.
The dream would live inside my heart,
where it would always stay.

I would have searched this great big world,
o'er every ocean, stream and lake,
I would have carried this dream in my heart,
forever as long as it takes.

Searching up north in the colder states,
with mountains capped with snow.
Or in the west through sandy dunes,
and valleys high and low.

In the east, I'd have stood atop,
that statue poised in strength,
and crossed every river and bridge beyond,
no matter what the length.

Or in the south, on sandy beach,
walked barefoot through hot sand.
Just to look into your eyes
and reach out for your hand.

I would have searched forever,
and never given in.
But the battle search is over now,
and I will gladly win.
