History

Oh man, where to begin. Al and I have been friends since the age of 2. His aunt lived next door, and one day, his family went over to visit and we just started playing together. By the age of 3, we started pre-kindergarden and continued growing up together, always in the same class, always interested in the same things : baseball and hockey.

As kids, we often played street hockey at Al's house. Almost everynight. After Al moved a blocked down from my house, we started playing at my place where he broke several windows and a garage door as his slapshot got harder and harder. Good times!

At the age of around 13, I finally got Al to join my fastball league where we had several great seasons.

Next, with teenage years ahead and high school starting, the friendship slowed down a bit as we both chose different high schools, although we still hung out from time to time. When we would hang out, we'd get in these grooves where we'd only play a certain sport for a period of time. We'd play each sport till we got sick of it, then switch, only to come back to it a few months later. It would go from basketball, to hockey, to baseball and a few others. Who can forget � bunt � (a little game we invented).

With highschool now over, and our lives as young adults beginning, I went on to college and Al went straight to working. He often scared me with his talks of moving down south or to Alberta to find work. I'm glad they were only talks. But work wasn't the only thing. We also moved on to Men's slo-pitch and hockey on outdoor rinks.

Today, we both work, and we both play a lot of hockey. We moved our hockey indoors to real rinks where we found that a lot of people need goalies. Also, we're both proud to be the owners of very nice vehicles. We both work very hard for our money, and personnaly, I think we deserve what we now have.

If you think we're crazy for buying what we bought, just remember � You only live once, so you might as well go with what you like. Just as long as you don't put yourself in serious debt.�

Why He's a Good Friend

I think we've made great friends because our personalities have pretty much always matched. We're both open to any type of music, we're both into sports and we both have the same views on life. We're both honest, reliable and trustworthy. Overall, we're just 2 good guys who grew up right in the tough world we live in today.

To me, Al has been the perfect best friend over the years. Wow, I can't imagine my life not growing up next to the guy. Well maybe I should say grow older since Al would say I never grew up, you know, me being a midget and all. But ummm... Yeah. Al has been a great friend, we've talked about a lot over the years, we've helped each other out, and we've always been there for each other. He never forced me to do anything nor did I force him to do anything. Maybe that's why we've never smoked or done drugs to this day.

If it came down to it, I'd be there for him, no matter what, no matter when! He's just been the best friend I could of ever hoped for. He's my closest friend ever. I hope to never see the day where we lose touch. You're the best Al! I can't say enough how thankful I am for this friendship. You have my trust, you have my respect. Don't ever change buddy. Your friendship to me cannot be replaced, and it's one of the things I value the most. I just wanted to let you know that.
