Only When I Look In The Mirror Can I Believe That Thirty Years Have Passed Since We Graduated From G.H.H.S.. For The Most Part I Have Been Satisfied With The Course That My Life Has Taken. I Have Studied, Traveled, Been In Love, Had Wonderful Friends, & Followed My Political Activism To A Profession That Offers Constant Challenge & Excitement. Happily I Have Also Kept My Ties To El Cajon, Where My Parents, Sisters & Families Still Live. After School I Attended U.C. Riverside, Where I Graduated With A B.A. In German, A Major Made More Interesting By 'Me Year That I Spent Studying At A University In The Former West Germany. I Subsequently Enrolled In Graduate School At UC. Berkeley, But Left The Next Year, Convinced That I Could Not Tolerate The Departments Conservatism. I Then Pursued My Wanderlust To Africa, Coming Back To Calif. In 1970 To Marry A Man Whom I Had Met At Riverside. immediately After The Wedding, We Moved To France, Where He Taught At The Univ. Of Bordeaux. Upon Our Return To The U.S., We Divorced, And I Settled Again In El Cajon, Living With My Parents While Studying For My Law Degree At Univ. Of S.D., An Academic Endeavor Interrupted By The Bicentennial Year, Which I Spent in Boston. After Passing The Bar Exam, I Came To Sacramento As A Senate Fellow And Was Subsequently Hired As Counsel To The Senate Judiciary Committee. During The Next Twelve Years I Worked For Various Democratic Legislators. However, With The Passage Of The Term Limitation And Budget Reduction Initiative, Staff Was Offered A Severance Package To Resign Voluntarily, I Took The Money, Sold My Home, Stored All My Possessions, Dropped My Cats Off At My Parents!, And Departed For Israel, Where I Spent A Fascinating Summer Working On An Archaeological Dig And Traveling Around That Amazing Country. Soon After My Return To The U.S., I Was Hired As A Lobbyist For Ford Motor Company, And I Have Now Served In That Capacity For Two Years, Lobbying In The California Capitol And Occasionally hi Congress. Most Of My Spare Time Is Spent Enjoying The Arts, Especially The Theater, And Renovating My Home, A 1912 Craftsman In Midtown Sacramento. I Am Very Much Looking Forward To Seeing Old High School Friends, For I Have Only The Fondest Memories Of Our Innocent And Hopeful Early 1960s Youth. (1993)
