It doesnt seem possible that forty years ago we were little eaglets that left the nest. It was great to see everyone! Rudy & I celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary. Our family has grown with four grandchildren, Michaela (13), Hailee (10), Kalen(7) and Lily (20). They bring so much love and laughter to our lives. Both Rudy and I decided to retire and enjoy the good life. However, we both decided we had too much time on our hands and we went back to work. After 30 years of having my own Real Estate Office, I decided to join Coldwell Banker. Its great to open the door and have everything at your fingertips.

Jim and Annis and Nate and grandma Annis
Occupation: Deacon, United Methodist Church and until July 7, 2003, Affiliate Support Manager, Habitat for Humanity International, Western States.
Hobbies: I was near exhaustion from my career and am now focused on reclaiming, de-cluttering our home and rekindling friendships here and afar. Im an amateur birder with many opportunities close by and in travel to such places as The Czech Republic & Austria, New Zealand, Cuba, New England, the western 13 states including Alaska, Mexico and Nicaragua. Next to family, our cabin on the Rogue River near Union Creek (Crater Lake) is our biggest blessing. Though we do have electricity now, this tiny rustic place on Forest Service land has been in Jims family since the 50s.
Other interests beyond family and friends are reading good literature, conducting spiritual retreats, serving guests meals, and gardening. My sport is swimming, though hiking and distance walking are close by, as are the canoe and kayak. I hope to return to doubles tennis soon as well as cross-country skiing. Someday I may do some writing.
Of late, my community activism has been just Habitat for Humanity , but I will no doubt return to politics in some form. The so-called Patriot Act is very disturbing; so is the state of environmental protection. Right now having our grandson Nate in our own town will be of utmost importance, influencing where any excess energy is invested. Bend is now approaching 55,000 population so growth issues are keenly on my mind; however, having Aaron in that field may preclude my volunteer work in that arena. Will see!
Jim and I have two grown children: son Aaron, 34, was a city planner in Vermont but as of September he has been employed here in Bend, Oregon returning to the Northwest with wife Sara and our first grandchild, Nate!!!!! We are ecstatic. Sara has a very likely job as Coordinator of Student Activities and Campus Life at Central Oregon Community College! Nate turned 2 in October and is with me in the photo. Daughter Beth, 31, lives in San Diego with husband James who is a SD police officer. Beth is a wrap trader with Brandes International, a value investment firm in Del Mar. The whole family loves outdoor sports, activities. Nates favorite word seems to be OUTSIDE! We are so blessed with healthy extended families, all who are more than coping in this troubled world.
Jim is a LCSW in private practice for many years and is now taking extended vacation time. His work approach helped me retire in July after 11+ years with Habitat for Humanity. That career began shortly after I finished my MA in Religious Education from Seattle Univ. at which time I left my library position and Central America activism. I loved Habitat people and work, but was becoming worn out by years of long hours and extensive travel. Ill likely choose another travel-less non-profit or church employment in about 18 months.
Give me a call and come visit our gorgeous high desert, home of Mt. Bachelor too. Carol (Rice) Arnold arrives Aug. 11 from Indiana, and Ill be with Lea and Linda (Newland) in Cedar City, Utah in September. Those visits will replace the Reunion for me this time around. I come to San Diego fairly often and will be there at Thanksgiving this year.

Rosemary (May) Brothers
Spouse: Widow
228 8th Ave. W
Shakopee, MN 55379

[email protected]
Occupation: Customer Correspondence Specialist
Hobbies: Gardening, boating, swimming, pet care & training, walking. Traveling as much as possible. Arkansas to see family often. A wonderful tour to England, Wales and Ireland. Great fun!
The past ten years have brought many changes to my life. Out of necessity, Ive learned to live very independently. There have been major changes to accept, to deal with, live with and, in time, enjoy. Number one and foremost was becoming a grandmother to a 2- yr. old boy and 1 yr old girl. Both treasures and of course the most beautiful of all children. I have the honor to Grand parent (I dont baby-sit) them every other Sunday while their folks are at work. Number two would be my career. Although still in the clerical field, I changed employers. Three, I moved. All 3 are biggies. The move affected me the most since I left the homestead of 27 years that we built up in Young America, MN, to be nearer my family here in Shakopee (shockopee.) I was able to find a place to suit my fancy and keep it big enough to have spare room for company (so come on out!) I probably paid for my 3-bedroom rambler what would buy only 1/3 of the same in California. Thats one nice thing about living where I do. My yard is nicely fenced to secure my 3 cats, one Yorkshire terrier and one Pomeranian. I travel to Arkansas to see my daughter and her husband, as well as, my mom and dad. Mom and I took the Ireland trip together. Twelve great days in one big dream. Stayed one night in an old castle. What a trip! (Any hippies left amongst us can take that both ways.)
I have remained single since my husband passed away in 87 and therein lays the independence. Quitting some really bad habits has produced a good appetite and a few pounds (well, more than a few.) So, for those of you that might remember me, you can no longer think of me as that skinny kid I once was. Life for me has been filled with lots of high ups and a few very low downs. I am happy to say the ups are in the process right now as Ive finally begun to feel at home in my new (almost 2 years now) surroundings both at home and at work. It is my understanding that we have lost a number of our classmates. To those of you that have been affected by a personal loss I send you my deepest and heartfelt sympathies. To those that have been blessed with new lives, be it your own changes or those coming after you, such as our grandchildren, please accept my most sincere congratulations! Congratulations also to those of you who may have achieved high acclaim, possibly you reached a longed for goal, or maybe you even decided to complete a college education. May you all be enriched by your memories and use them to guide you in the years still ahead to prosper and be happy.
To end I offer this quote to you all. May the sun shine bright on your windowpane. May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain. May the hand of a friend always be near you. And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

Robert John Zaide-Pritchard (b. 1971) lives four miles away from me in Ramsgate, Kent: he is an Accountant and Company Director in a European multi-national marine services company. Michelle Lily Zaide-Pritchard (b. 1973) currently lives in Manila where she is a television personality, writes for glossy motor-sport magazines, is the top-ranked female racing driver in the Philippines, and was a founder-member of a leading pop band that mixes Celtic, classical and rock idioms. Classically trained in England, she composed much of the bands original music and plays the electric violin. I met my second wife, Ela, whom I married in 1989, as a mature student of mine at the University of Kent. Granddaughter of the late 16th Duke of Norfolk, hereditary Head of the English Peerage and Earl Marshal of England, she is a retired Chartered Accountant and ex-Chief Inspector of Taxes with the British Inland Revenue. Simon Frederick Loughlin-McHugh (b. 1970), her child and my stepson, lives in London where he is an Applied Physicist and a Computer Analyst-Programmer. He is also R&D Director in a family business of which Im the Chairman, Integrated Document Systems, Ltd., and a founding member of a goth band.
Ela and I live quietly in a small Georgian townhouse in Margate on the North Kent coast about fifteen miles from the ancient cathedral city of Canterbury.

Occupation: Attorney
In the decade since our last reunion, I returned to San Diego after having lived for 20 years in Sacramento, where I was an attorney with the Legislature and a lobbyist for AAA, Ford Motor Company, and a large trade association.
During the late 1990s I had the opportunity to indulge my passion for travel and made two extended trips to Europe and North Africa. In Europe I revisited many of the places that I had first seen in 1966, when I was studying in Germany, and in 1970, when I lived in France, where my ex-husband taught at the University of Bordeaux.
On both these trips I also had the great pleasure of staying for a while with John Pritchard and his delightful wife, Lady Ela Lodge-Pritchard, who live in a lovely old home in Kent.
Most of my time is now spent volunteering for the San Diego County Democratic Party and for local Democratic candidates. (I developed my love for politics during my first campaign experience in the fall of 1963.)
Given our inexorably advancing age, I do not expect any great changes will be occurring in my life over the next 10 years and will probably report much of the same things when our 50th reunion comes around.

For additional information visit www.horsefoundation.org. I am chairman of the town of Spring Prairie dont try to find it on a map too small. It is a rural town of about 2200 people in 36 miles. If you find Burlington, WI in Southeast Wisconsin we are immediately to the west. After high school I finished my first degree at UCD then spent 7 years in the military. Got to see Southeast Asia and Europe before returning to the States. Landed a job in Omaha, NE, which is how I came to live in the Midwest. Later moved to Kansas City where I worked on a second degree in business.
We are looking forward to retirement in four years.

Occupation:
Hobbies: Every spare minute is in the garden roses, roses, & more roses for me, and anything that will grow in a lathe house for my husband. My husband & I are both gardeners/landscapers & have traveled in the US & Europe to visit private & public gardens. We visit friends & family in several states, and enjoy hunting everywhere for unusual plants. Of course the garden & our dogs (3 English Springer Spaniels) demand a lot of attention, and living in beautiful wine country (Sonoma Country) is further reason to stay home. Computers have made communication so convenient Id love to hear from anyone.
I have been working in the rehabilitation of injured workers for 19 years now, and still enjoy every day. My Texan husband (of 34 years) retired from PacBell in 1990, so by now he is a pro at taking life easy. I still have to learn that skill, but aging may force me to pace myself eventually, if not 35 years of living with diabetes.

Life is so much sweeter now...so glad high school is over...never much cared for it.
"art and dreams intersect in my life...my love is to put them into form, in words or images...to discover the illusive feelings that simmer beyond."
I began my journey into art a few years ago...taking classes with artists at the San Diego Water Color Society and the Athenaeum in La Jolla. Watercolor was chosen for its portability and spontenaity...I wanted a medium that had a life of its own...and that I have found in water. Most of my work I do out of town, the city detracts from my creativity. I want to give the feelings of space, peace...tranquility. I go places where I feel those qualities...and there the art is born.
Art is a spiritual path...that connection with the Creator, the stillness that allows the muse to appear.
It is a meditation and a discipline.

Constance Williams Griffith "I am writing to let you and your fellow classmates know of the loss of my wife Connie Williams Griffith to cancer on December 18th, 2002. She fought a valiant but short fight with lung cancer that was not diagnosed until August [2002], after a bout of bronchitis. Connie was not a smoker and was in excellent health so we were all taken by complete surprise by the diagnosis. Her mother, Isabel Williams, is still very active and still comes into our insurance agency, C. Lee Williams & Associates, which carries the name of her dad to this day. It is still tough losing her after 34 years of marriage, but I did want her classmates to know of her passing.
