FINALE
(TAG)
INT. RAY AND DEBRA’S LIVING ROOM – Two Days
Later
(Ray, Debra, Frank, Marie, Robert, Amy and
Phil Rosenthal)
Phil Rosenthal dressed in a black tuxedo,
standing in front of a 1930’s style radio microphone with a
spotlight focused on him.
PHIL
ROSENTHAL
Ladies and Gentlemen, as usual
with the Barone family, there is always a snag to make
someone unhappy.
FADE TO:
Ray, Debra, Robert and Amy are watching
television.
Enter
Frank and Marie from front door.
MARIE
Well, I
just want you all to know that you can keep your plans for
the seventeenth.
RAY
Why? What
about the wedding? And my eyes?
MARIE
It seems
that the whole family wasn’t invited to this wedding after
all.
DEBRA
That’s okay
Marie. You and Frank go and have a wonderful time.
FRANK
I don’t
think we can do that.
RAY
Come on
Mom. You don’t need us to go everywhere with you. Go.
FRANK
Marie and I
weren’t invited to this wedding.
ROBERT
What are
you saying? You were UN-invited? Can people actually do
that?
MARIE
No. No.
Nothing like that. It seems that there really is a Mary
Ballrone in Lynbrook. She called asking us to forward her
cousin, Katherine’s invitation to her correct address.
AMY
Marie, when
your Aunt Ellie’s granddaughter does get married, we’ll be
more than happy to go to the wedding with you. I promise.
FRANK
Ha Ha Ha.
MARIE
Oh stop it
Frank.
DEBRA
What’s so
funny?
MARIE
(Embarrassed)
Aunt
Ellie’s granddaughter already got married. (Beat) Two
years ago. I wasn’t invited.
FX: CHORUS
WOMEN AND MEN
(“All
that Jazz”)
Oh, I
love my life,
And
all that jazz!
