Gardens, Grounds and Fencing

The original corner property was about five feet wider. I believe it was a 5-foot width that was sold by a previous owner to the neighbor on the west side of the house so that they could build a garage on his narrow lot. The property now is just under half an acre.

When George purchased this property, there was no defined landscaping. A landscape architect designed the layout of flower beds surrounding the house, along the boarders of the property and the front walkway, giving it a sense of balance. It took years to complete the landscaping.

The Front of the Property

The shrubs were replaced with new evergreens that are kept trimmed to the porch floor level. They hide the rock foundation of the porch and act as a backdrop for flower beds where both perennials and annuals are now planted.

The white picket fence and the gates across the driveway and front walk were removed. He felt the fencing did not go with this style of home. George planted ninety Pink Simplicity rose bushes across the entire front of the property. We're sure you will agree that they provide a beautiful welcome.

Sprinkling System - Water Sources

The sprinkling system throughout the property did not work and George had a major job repairing and updating the system to provide water to the grounds. It is on an timer scheduled through the week to turn on and off automatically. The sprinkling system covers the lawns, flower beds and the curb area lawns to the property.

There are water faucets in each side of the house.

Electrical

Two flood lights were installed in the flower beds that shine up on the two large columns. They give the house a beautiful highlight in the evenings. The wall switch for these lights are in the family room.
