Lesson # 14269
I had written this long diatribe about the shopping trip but proceeded to delete it by accedent so I am going to try to duplicate it.

So Andy came by on Sunday morning, picked me up and we headed back to Overland Park.  Our first stop was at Target, one of my favorate stores.  It isn't a high end department store or boutique but is more on the line of a better grade Wal-mart.Its merchandice both in the men's department and house wares in a better grade than either Wal-mart or K-mart but is still affordable.  There are plenty of high end kitchen ware and men's ware shops here on the plaze but I can't see paying the prices they ask when I gan get a good servicabe and atractive product at better prices.I can easily spend hours in there. Andy forgot his shopping list and had to go back home to get it.  It was an hour long trip there and back so I decided to get most of my shopping done while he was gone.

As I said the main target of this trip was to get ornaments for my Hanakkah bush and I quickly got that done. I then tackeled the remainder of my list getting gifts for my friends.  I had origanilly planned on having a simple gift exchange and just buy an ornament for each of my friends. Something nice that I thoguht reflected them.  The last few years besides a gift I had been buying my closest friends ornaments.  I would pick something out that I thought that we would all like and get one for each of us.  I have in the past did the eight gifts for each thing. Something for each night of Hanakkah usually seven small and practical things and one large gift and found that about half way through the process that I was completely out of the spirit and just buying to get it done. Because of that experience I determained that I wiould not be doing that again.  But low and behold this year when I got started I found that not only did I have over the past year thought of enough things for each but that I also really wanted to get some specific things for specific people and that the ornaments were the least of them.

The main deciding factor was this sweater that I saw and really thought would be perfect for Charles.  I have seen this sweater around alot this winter and knew that first off  I would love it but unfortunately it only looks good on those who are in great shape.  Currently that doesn't enclude me.  Once I saw the sweater on Andy, when we went to the opera, from that I knew that this was one garment that would be great on Charles.  He and I have simular taiste, it is something that he would love but most likely would not go out and get for himself.  While at Target I saw a couple of other things that would be perfect for different people and decided to go for it.  I'm afraid that once again I might regret having gotten started.  I now have most of the gifts but have been unable to find any ornaments that speaks to me.  Over the weekend I am going to head over to Dillards to see what they have.  I've checked my normal haunts for ornaments.  Hall's the Halmark owned department store here in town and Sac's Fifth Avenu both of which are here on the Plaza. After I try Dillards I may have to venter further afield to find what I am looking for.
