Another quiet weekend at home.  Though it was beautiful out, temp in the 70's, I spent the day in the house.  When I say I spent the day in the house I don't mean that I stayed home most of the day, I mean I did not step out of my front door the whole day.  Now you would think that if I stayed home all day that I either would have gotten something accomplished or spent the day doing something I mean anything constructive.  Well I didn't, I spent the day in front of the boob toob and with my nose in a book. I even stayed up until two in the morning doing nothing. I didn't even clean up after my self.  Where ever I dropped something that is where it stayed. At one point I took off my robe in the living room and  just dropped it on the floor.  That is where it still was when I got up Sunday morning.

I was suppose to go to the first KC Power (Aussie Rules Football) game of the season but when my friend Andy had to cancel I ended up staying home.

I had planned to get up on Sunday morning and get a number of household chores done.  it seems that on most weekends I have great intentions and accomplish little or nothing. I was determined that this wasn't going to be the case this weekend.

Before I had a chance to even get out of bed Charles called. He just happened to be  in the area and was downstairs. I buzzed him  in and jumped out of bed to give the place some semblance of order.  I was able to pick up the worst of the mess by the time he got to the door. Since I wasn't expecting him I made him wait while I showered and dressed so we could go out to breakfast.  I live close to a Kansas City landmark restaurant that t is a fifties style burger joint.  I had been talking of going there for some time for breakfast, I go entirely to often for dinner. The food isn't that good and is fairly pricey for what you get. So Charles and I drove over and had breakfast.  The breakfast food is much better and better priced also.  We had a nice leisurely meal and talked for a while.  Charles and his boyfriend Andy just broke up.  They first started contemplating it before the holidays.  They broke up for a month or so and ended up getting back together.  Well it didn't work out so they finally broke up for good.  The end of a five year relationship.  It seems that a number of my friends' relationships seem to break up at the five year mark. I wonder what it is about five years that things begin to fall apart.

I recognize that this is a time of growing pains and stress in relationships .  I try to give each of my friends that have reach this stage in their relationship  a copy of a book on the stages of gay relationships and the pitfalls to watch out for.  Unfortunately none of them are big readers and several have said they are not interested in reading gay oriented things in particlular
especially someone trying to tell them how their relationship is going to go. Now I admit we all think that our relationship is different, that it is the first of its kind and no one has ever had one like it, but we will gladly admit that the progress of str8 relationships can often be fortold . Why not ours?

After breakfast Charles took me to see his new house.  He moved from an apartment in Overland Park ( a Kansas suburb of Kansas City) to a house in Kansas City proper.  The house is very nice and much closer to me.  I think that despite his busy schedule I will be seeing a lot more of him.
