       Dear GECA Alumni,

      For all of us internet has become a part of life. We get so much information about everything from travel to technology, from sports to politics almost instantly.
Email keeps us connected irrespective of our geographies. But all our fellow students studying in Government Engineering College, Aurangabad are still sharing 16KBPS VSAT link to access internet, you can imagine how slow it can be.

     Lot of people have expressed the willingness to help GECA some way or other in past, but without any plan to do same. So few Ex-GECAites got together and decided to re-invigorate the efforts to raise funds to help GECA set up high speed internet connection. This money will go towards financing internet connectivity and buying related hardware (like router etc.).

Contribute and Collaborate:
    This is a time for all of us to contribute back to the cause of our alma mater.
It will help students stay connected to world via internet.

Latest Activities:
o We have opened a bank account for collecting contributions towards this effort on 01/02/2001. So far we have collected $2275 from 44 people.

o Two volunteers are visiting GECA in the month of Jan 2001 to discuss with college staff on this.

o We have received several responses from college staff showing interests and making suggestions, which is very encouraging.

o Everyone who contributes gets email updates from time to time (typically twice a week)� through common� email alias.
