o College has a campus wide network of about 60 nodes connected to a Compaq Server.Current set-up facilitates a separate computer lab in each dept of the college and each such lab is connected to this server.
o Network is with UTP cabling internally and a fibre across the bldg.
o This entire network is commissioned in June 2000.
o This server is connected to a VSAT (NIC, Delhi) mounted on CSE Dept and the internet connectivity is thru this.
o The bandwidth is poor about 16 kbps. Here what we are
planning to help through this fund raiser.
o Max 5 to 6 computers surfing at a time can consume the entire bandwidth.� We are targetting to increase this to 25-30 computers through our efforts.
o Presently the bandwidth is shared across a no of VSAT installations resulting in more performance problem
