Welcome to my Mountaineering page. This page will folllow my progress in my mountaineering career. Although my career is still in its infancy I hope you will enjoy what I have to share. My goal is Denali in Alaska. I hope to climb it within the next few years. My first big mountain was Mt.Rainier. I climbed Rainier in 2000 with Keith, JD, and Matt. Matt and I came from Colorado and JD came from New York while Keith came from South Carolina. I met Keith and JD over the internet. I put out a post and I recieved alot of replies. They seemed to be the best canidates for the team. Fast Foward to Paradise. When Matt and I arrived at Paradise it was so foggy that we could not see anything. I thought this might be a bad sign by the Mountain gods but it cleared up a few hours later. Once Keith and JD arrived we left the next morning for Camp Muir. What a long slog! It seems to take forever to get there.Finally we get there and finad a couple of abandoned tent sites. We even have a kitchen. Some of the parties around us are on thier secon, third,or fourth summit attempts. Again another bad sign. Well we take the next day to sleep in a tour the local crevasses. Wow they are bottomless. We wad up snowballs and we never hear them hit the bottm. The next day JD, Matt , and I head for the summit. Keith wasn't feeling well so he stayed at camp. We left a lttile after 1:00 a.m.on June 23 and summited around 7:00 a.m. What a great adventure. So many things to see. I highly recommend this trip to anyone. In december of 2000 I was attempting to ski and crashed hard. The ski cut my leg open and I had to goto the ER. This through my plans for a trip to Big Mac out the window. Hopefully I will be able to go next year. I will continue to update this page.
